![]() ![]() This is something you may say with a big smile on your face if it’s a good news. In France, most English-speaking programmes are dubbed in French, with the expression being translated as “tu es sérieux/se”.Ī variant of that is “ non, sérieusement ?” whereby you ask the person to stop joking and to start talking seriously.įor really big news, you may take it one step further and say “ tu te moques de moi ?”, roughly translating to “are you kidding me ?” This is certainly an influence of the English language, since the expression “are you serious ?” is heard quite often in U.S shows and movies. The French sometimes shorten it and just say “Pas possible !” :Ī fashionable way of expressing suprise and disbelief in French is to say “ tu es sérieux ?” or “tu es sérieuse” when speaking to a woman. In the above example, you could use that instead of “c’est pas vrai”. Tu sais quoi ? J’ai été nommé directrice des ventes !Īn equivalent French phrase for expressing surprise is “ c’est pas possible !”.It’s not the case though, the French say it all the time. As an English speaker, you may feel it’s a rude thing to say as it sounds like you’re doubting what the person is telling you. And third, excitement How to express surprise in French : disbeliefĪ common phrase used when hearing a big news is “non !” As you can tell, you’re basically refusing to believe what you hear because it’s so incredible.Typically, the progression goes like this : In this post, we look at French expressions and phrases used at the various stages of the feelings we go through when hearing a surprising news. Knowing how to express excitement is extremely important whatever the language you’re learning, and French is no exception. Why ? Because I’m typically short on things to say to express these feelings of excitement or amazement.Īs a result, I will say something that does not truly reflect these feelings.įor example, let’s imagine I’m an English learner, and someone just announced to me I was admitted into the best university in the country.īecause of my limited knowledge of the language, I might just respond with something like “oh that’s great !”, giving the impression I’m only moderately excited about the news.Ĭonversely, I may say “it’s amazing !” when told the repair guy finished fixing the kitchen faucet. When learning a foreign language, I find these situations to be very uncomfortable. ![]() Every now and then someone will come out and tell you something that will make your jaw drop, your eyes stare in disbelief, your blood flush with excitement.

![]() Defense might win championships, as the cliché goes, but a top-10 offense is crucial, too. Granted, that team was the 2021-22 Warriors, who just won the title with the 17th-ranked offense-but that’s still scant precedent for a team to succeed with such inefficient offensive production. ![]() The second reason reflects history: Since 2009-10, only one team has reached the Finals while ranking outside the top 10 in offense, according to Cleaning the Glass. Least Efficient NBA Offenses, 2022-23 Team The first concerns their company in 2022-23: Nobody else near the bottom of the offensive rankings looks like a contender. That imbalance is alarming for two reasons. The issues are concentrated on one side of the ball: While the Clippers rank second in the NBA in defensive rating, according to Cleaning the Glass, they rank just 28th on offense. And that’s despite one of the NBA’s easiest schedules to date more than half of their wins are against the Rockets, Lakers, and Spurs, the three worst teams in the Western Conference. Even after winning three games in a row, their point differential of plus-0.3 points per game still underwhelms, ranking eighth in the West. Heading into Wednesday’s national TV game against the Warriors, they sit in fourth place in the West, and they’re cofavorites-along with those sub-.500 Warriors-to win the Western Conference, according to the most recent FanDuel odds.īut a sort-of-healthy Leonard-who will happen to miss Wednesday’s showcase game, along with star teammate Paul George-won’t solve all of the problems for a team expected to be at the front of the title race. The Clips have since righted the ship (sorry), winning all three games following Leonard’s return last week to improve to 11-7. And the Clippers have quietly been struggling, too, starting the season 2-4 with star Kawhi Leonard missing yet more time due to injury. The Lakers are 5-11, closer to last place in the West than a play-in spot. The stadium sponsor and Staples replacement might be in trouble. It’s been an erratic month for every NBA entity associated with the Arena. ![]() I hope I included all the necessary information. I have tried setting the properties of the video capture device to custom (it defaults to 60 fps anyway) but it didn't alter the preview nor the local recordings or stream. I'm not sure if the attached log files are the correct ones so I included the earlier timestamp one from the stream today and the latest one, I did some local recordings so they might be from that, but either way the same issue persists during a stream or during a local recording. I'm not sure if the Avermedia Stream engine, OBS, or the capture card are the problem. It continued to have this issue even after OBS closed. ![]() Additionally, when i opened OBS, RE Central was no longer able to capture my PS4 and instead tried to display a glitchy fragment of my monitor. When recording from OBS, the video file said 60 FPS but was clearly running at 30. When using the RE Central capturing software that comes with the avermedia, I was able to capture a video of the game running at 60 fps. The game im playing is running 60 fps but the preview in obs and therefore the stream (or a local recording) are seeing it at 30 fps. I have my PS4 hooked up to my primary monitor and have OBS up on a 2nd monitor. I am streaming at a bitrate of 3500 with canvas and output resolution set to 720p on OBS Studio 64 bit v 24.0.3 I'm using NVENC encoding and my PC specs are: ![]() The G元10 can at least capture 60 FPS at 720p which is what my settings are at in OBS. I'm having an issue where OBS preview is showing my video capture device (Avermedia lite gl310 capturing a regular PS4) running at 30 FPS or a framerate lower than 60 fps when it should be capturing at 60 fps. ![]() On the other hand, both games also share some problems. After all, I have come clean as a fan of Modern Warfare and the things that make me a fan of that game, actively hinder my enjoyment of this one. Now, take all of this with a grain of salt. I kind of like doors, actually, but I don’t really mind the change one way or another.Īlas, it is here that we must segue into section number two. ![]() You will not open them or burst through them, for better or worse. There are doorways in Cold War but no doors. Once again, this is also in Warzone so I’m not sure how they’ll incorporate Cold War’s lack of door opening into that game. The second change I’m mostly neutral about is the ability to open and/or burst through doors. Mounting can also mean you’re stuck in place when an enemy flanks you. Some people decried it as a way to make camping too easy, but I never found much use for it one way or another. It let players in Modern Warfare stabilize their guns on various surfaces-crates, the corners of walls and so forth-in order to gain more stability and less recoil. I am more neutral than anything when it comes to two big changes to game mechanics, though these also make me wonder about how this will be incorporated into Warzone. It’s all well and good getting to vote until everyone starts voting for the same damn map over and over again. Map voting is also back for Cold War, which I think is a fine thing though not something I particularly missed in Modern Warfare. In Combined Arms we have a snow map (Crossroads) and a map that takes place across several ships on the open sea (Armada), both of which are designed for vehicles and larger teams of 12v12. The map takes place at night on a beachside block replete with glowing neon signs, high-rise hotels and a pool you can swim in. ![]() I’ll have more to say about this map in the next section, but there’s no denying it brings even more variety to the table. It’s all very grey, as well, reflecting Soviet-era utilitarian design.įinally, of the 6v6 maps in the alpha, there’s Miami. Lots of blind points and mid-range shootouts. Next up there’s Moscow, an urban map with lots of narrow corridors, sharp corners and different levels to play with. The majority of the map is desert canyons and ridges with a smattering of rock archways. On one side, sweeping dunes create long sight lines (though the dunes themselves provide a good cover option). You have Satellite, a desert map set around the crash site of a fallen satellite. Not only are maps more varied in terms of location than Modern Warfare, they’re also more saturated with a wider color pallette. Right off the bat, one thing I enjoy a great deal about Cold War so far is the map variety. ![]() 17, is the first feature film about Russia’s military campaign in Ukraine to hit the movie theaters nationwide. I maintain over 100 pc overall, never had an SSD fail on me. I run over 20 blue iris pc's many of which are 6-8 years old. You can stream using a vpn with BOTH a pc OR NVR. Therefore you if have half a brain, you use a vpn and dont expose the device to the internet. Have you seen the backdoors and hacks for NVR's? Moreover the manufactues do not issue timely firmware updates. What world do you live in?Ī computer is NOT easier to hack than an NVR. You can completely eliminate and prevent MS updates if you wish. You do understand that NVR's cpu's are also taxed and that is why they are limited by to certain bitrates? If you buy the right cpu or use software that does not tax the CPU you wont have a "cpu taxing" issue. Let me help correct your false and misleading statements. ++ NVRs are designed to run 24-7 without failure (My current one is running 24-7 and records 16 channels 24-7 for over 4years now without a hiccup)Ĭlick to expand. You have little to no experience with both NVR and PC based NVR's as evidenced by your post. Mine on sale cost over $300 (POE but I used POE switches instead of buying a 16-port POE NVR) limited to number of hard drives for video storage (I have 2-10TB WD purple hard drives recording 16 camers recording 24-7 giving me only 42days of storage: 1-4k 20fps, 15-4mp 20fps) ++ NVR operating system is not on a drive thus a drive failure only deletes old recordings you need the NVR's app to access remotely ++ dedicated NVR software not easier hacked ++ No unexpected Microsoft updates shutting down system ++ uses minimal power running 24-7 compared to a computer pulling 200+ watts you need to carefully look at the specs for recording mp bandwidth rate you need to carefully look at specs to see what cameras work with your brand NVR (I have GW NVR that supports ONVIF but not all cameras, most good cameras do though, support ONVIF) computers are not designed (unless server) to be ran 24-7 (my last one made it 2.5 years until it failed running 24-7 as a NVR) a cheap computer will not have a CPU able to support 16 cameras all streaming video to be recorded 24-7 ++ can have multiple drives for video recordings computer operating system requires a drive that will fail over time ++ can stream video over your VPN without needing to use an app for access Microsoft updates shut down computer at inconvenient times computers suck typically a lot more power may tax your CPU heavily since the CPU is doing the processing (more camera the harder the CPU works) Personally I'll stay with the NVR now as replacing the computers is more costly and brings with it unplanned/unscheduled security updates. Based on my comparison here are my notes. I've used both NVRs and Blue Iris on a tower. ![]() A commercial monoclonal anti-MOG antibody was used as a positive control (Millipore, Billerica, MA clone 8–18C5).Ĭlinical characteristics and antibody profile of patients To investigate optic nerve specificity, anti-MOG–positive sera were applied onto 10 μm nonfixed or 2% paraformaldehyde-fixed sections of fresh frozen human optic nerves (Netherlands Brain Bank, Amsterdam). Patient sera (1:60 dilution) were applied on live human embryonic kidney 293T cells and transiently transfected with full-length MOG enhanced green fluorescent protein followed by a goat anti-human secondary antibody (Alexa Fluor 568). ![]() In some cases, there are seemingly more than one valid Lewis structures for molecules and polyatomic ions. The actual charge of the molecule depends on several factors, including the difference in electronegativity between the constituent atoms. Since oxygen is more electronegative than nitrogen, the second structure, with the negative formal charge on the oxygen, is identified as the dominant structure for nitrous oxide.įormal charges are not the actual charges of molecules or atoms, but a bookkeeping convention. Hence, the third structure with a higher formal charge can be ignored.Īdditionally, a negative formal charge, if present, should be carried by the most electronegative atom. Generally, the formal charges on the individual atoms in a dominant Lewis structure are closest to zero. Because nitrous oxide is a neutral molecule, the sum of all formal charges needs to be zero. ![]() The calculation based on the number of nonbonding electrons and half the number of bonding electrons gives the formal charge for each structure. Nitrogen has five valence electrons, and oxygen has six valence electrons. ![]() The best Lewis structure is identified by formal charge calculations. To determine the formal charge on each atom, first add the number of nonbonding electrons to half the number of bonding electrons and then subtract the obtained value from the number of valence electrons.Īn aggregate of all formal charges in a molecule or ion is equal to the net charge of the molecule or ion.įor example, nitrous oxide can be represented by three possible Lewis structures – one with two double bonds, one with a triple bond between the nitrogen atoms, and one with a triple bond between the nitrogen and oxygen - all that satisfy the octet. It assumes that each bonding electron is equally shared by the two atoms.Ĭonsider hydrogen chloride.
